Pemulwuy Precinct by DEICORP

The Pemulwuy Precinct is a multi-stage project headed by the Aboriginal Housing Corporation (AHC), an independent non-profit with charity status that provides community housing.

Situated in the heart of Redfern, NSW, the residential and accomodation project lies on the traditional lands of the Gadigal people, part of the Eora nation.

Since 2010, AHC has formed a collaboration with celebrated Sydney property developer and construction firm Deicorp to bring the project to life.

The Pemulwuy Precinct is currently being built across three stages, with a focus on multi-residential, an art gallery, child care centre, commercial space and retail suites for stages 1 and 2. For stage 3, a 24 storey student accomodation building is going live with 596 beds, communal student amenities & open spaces and internal courtyard.

The residential component consist of 26 apartments and 36 townhouses, across 3 to 6 storeys. The core focus is to provide affordable housing for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Through a combination of commercial and retail offerings, the precinct will provide a financially viable and sustainable base for the life of the project.

Deicorp selected Shriro Commercial to provide a comprehensive cooking and laundry package for the residential component.

Omega’s suite of products provided the right match for the project. The kitchen package consisted of the OBO660X 60cm built-in oven, OCG64X 60cm gas cooktop, ORT6WXA 60cm slide-out rangehood and ODW700X 60cm freestanding dishwasher. In the laundry, the OCD45W 4.5kg dryer was chosen.
